It is with great pleasure and gratitude that we recognize Bob and Mary Anne Honzik as our Family of the Month for September 2025. This outstanding couple has been an unwavering pillar of our parish and local community for many years, always willing to lend a helping hand wherever there is a need. Their tireless commitment to both our parish family and the broader community exemplifies the values of charity, unity, and service that we hold dear.

Bob and Mary Anne’s deep involvement in the parish and community keeps them constantly engaged in a variety of important initiatives, demonstrating their dedication to building a stronger, more vibrant faith community. Their contributions are countless, but here are just a few highlights:

  • St. John's Knights Golf Tournament: Both Bob and Mary Anne have actively volunteered their time to support this key parish event, helping to raise funds and foster fellowship among parishioners.

  • Seminarian Fundraising: For over 16 years, Bob and Mary Anne have been instrumental in supporting the seminarians of our parish. They were the driving force behind the Taste of Faith Dinner, which was established to raise funds for seminarians, ensuring our parish continues to nurture and support those called to the priesthood.

  • Bob’s Leadership and Service:

    • 4th Degree Knight: As a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, Bob has shown exemplary leadership and dedication to our faith community.

    • Parish Council Finance Committee: Bob has served on this vital committee, helping to ensure the financial health and stability of our parish.

    • Restoration of the Priest's Circle, Calvary Cemetery, Little Rock: Bob took the initiative to restore this important area, ensuring that it remains a fitting tribute to the priests who have served our community.

    • Chair of the Usher Committee: In this role, Bob has worked to ensure that our liturgies run smoothly and efficiently.

    • Eucharistic Adorer: His commitment to Eucharistic Adoration is a testament to his deep devotion to our Lord.

    • Vocation Director for the State Knights of Columbus: Bob has served as a key figure in promoting vocations to the priesthood and religious life throughout our state.

  • Mary Anne’s Involvement and Leadership:

    • LOSH Member: As a member of the Ladies of St. Helen (LOSH), Mary Anne has been an active participant in supporting parish events and initiatives.

    • Rectory Clean-up Project: Mary Anne took the lead in organizing and heading the committee for the Rectory Clean-up Project, ensuring our priests have a welcoming and well-maintained residence.

    • Disaster Group Support: Mary Anne has provided refreshments and support to the Disaster Response Group, showing her care for those affected by crises.

    • Carpet and Chapel Committees: Mary Anne has contributed her time and talents to both the Carpet Committee and the Chapel Committee, ensuring our church environment remains beautiful and functional.

    • Hospitality to Parish Guests: Mary Anne has graciously hosted numerous parish dinners, including Sunday meals for parish guests, the Bishop, and other visitors, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all.

  • Community Fellowship and Fun:

    • Neighborhood Salad Parties: Bob and Mary Anne host annual Neighborhood Salad Parties, inviting 35 to 40 guests for an evening of fellowship and fun, further strengthening the sense of community both within the parish and the surrounding neighborhood.

    • Infamous Christmas Party: They also host a well-loved and memorable Christmas Party, bringing joy and cheer to all those who attend.

Their service to our parish and community is boundless, and their contributions touch the lives of so many people, both near and far. Bob and Mary Anne exemplify what it means to live a life of service, and their dedication to our parish, our faith, and each other is truly inspiring.

It is with great joy that we honor Bob and Mary Anne as our Family of the Month for September 2025. Their example of love, service, and community makes them so very deserving of this recognition.
