OCTOBER 2025
Family of the Month John and Connie Weidert
We are delighted to recognize John and Connie Weidert as our October 2025 Family of the Month! Their dedication to family, faith, and community has made a lasting impact on all who know them. With a shared commitment to serving others, the Weiderts are pillars of strength and compassion in our parish and beyond.
A Shared Faith and Service
Both John and Connie are deeply involved in the life of our church, dedicating countless hours to support and nurture the spiritual growth of others.
Connie’s Role in Our Church Community
Connie’s devotion to the faith is evident in her many contributions to our Church. As an Eucharistic Minister, she is a key part of the church’s ministry, ensuring the body of Christ is shared with parishioners in a reverent and meaningful way. In addition, Connie faithfully participates in Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration, providing quiet and contemplative prayers for the church community around the clock.
Her involvement doesn’t stop there—Connie is also an active member of the SHJ Church Funeral Ministry, offering support and comfort to grieving families during difficult times. She has been an integral part of our SHJ Program for the Intellectually Impaired, volunteering her time to assist and uplift individuals who need it most. Whether supporting the SHJ Church Dinners or other church events, Connie’s generous spirit and tireless efforts are felt throughout the parish.
“Service is a true blessing,” says Connie. “It’s not just about giving back to the community, but also about forming deep connections with people who are seeking love, comfort, and faith.”
John’s Dedicated Involvement
John’s contributions are equally impactful. Like Connie, he serves as an Eucharistic Minister and is a dedicated participant in Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration. His quiet strength and devotion to prayer serve as an inspiration to all who encounter him in the church.
John has also been a dedicated volunteer with the SHJ Program for the Intellectually Impaired, working alongside Connie to provide support and a sense of belonging to individuals in need. His unwavering support of SHJ Church Dinners and other parish functions speaks to his belief in fostering community and connection.
In addition to these roles, John’s leadership within the Knights of Columbus has been exemplary. As the Fourth Degree Navigator for the Fraternal Year 2023-2024, he led with integrity and dedication. In the Fraternal Year 2024-2025, John served as the Knights of Columbus Grand Knight, where he continued to guide the organization with wisdom and humility. In 2026, John will take on the important responsibility of serving as the SHJ Church Taste of Faith Program Emcee, continuing his commitment to leading and inspiring others in the faith community.
“The Knights of Columbus has given me the opportunity to not only serve but also to grow in my faith,” shares John. “It’s about working together to make the world a better place.”
A Family United in Service
John and Connie’s dedication to each other, their faith, and their community is a beautiful reflection of the values they hold dear. Together, they serve as an incredible example of selflessness, always putting the needs of others before their own.
“We’re just doing what we can,” says Connie. “In the end, it’s about showing love and kindness to everyone we meet.”
John adds, “We feel blessed to be able to serve in so many ways. It’s a privilege to give back, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to do so.”
Looking Toward the Future
As they look forward to the years ahead, John and Connie remain steadfast in their commitment to serving both their parish and the wider community. Their deep faith, tireless work, and genuine love for others make them an inspiration to all.
We are honored to celebrate John and Connie Weidert as our October 2025 Family of the Month. Their unwavering service and leadership in our church and community continue to enrich the lives of those around them.
